Ruitelan to Alto Do Poio
22km/14.5miles
A great day! Who would've guessed I'd prefer uphill to downhill? Sure I'm huffing and puffing, but in the end it's all all about my feet and ankles and they sure like the uphill better!
The sights were beautiful today. Lots of small mountain villages.
These horses came right over to us and let us pet them.
We are now in Galicia, our final province! Santiago here we come!!!
Sarah joined us for the day and our friend Andy from Switzerland for part if the day. Sarah has a slight injury so she's "going slow"... which is about my normal pace, haha.
You might not be able to tell, but this pilgrim is holding his hat on. Very appropriate as it was really windy and cold at the top.
This is the sign at the albergue where we stayed in Alto Do Poio.
142km to Santiago!
When we arrived Pim and a warm fire were waiting for us, just perfect!
After dinner we played a bit of cards (kind of difficult since the Spanish decks only have 40 cards) before we turned in.
To officially complete the camino de Santiago you must walk the last 100km, which I'm almost to! You know what that means? It's not too late to email or Facebook me your petitions and I will include them for the last 100km!
Today I'm thankful for the fireplace, good weather, and for getting to go to half a Mass.
I'm still learning that I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me.
7 DAYS TO SANTIAGO!!!
